Razer Wolverine Ultimate and Nari Ultimate, a vibrant couple

We have had the opportunity to test two xbox accessories manufactured by Razer very interesting. We talk about Ultimate Wolverine and Ultimate Nari, a game pad and headphones that together form a perfect team of accessories for Xbox users. Do you want to know what we think? Keep reading.

Razer Wolverine Ultimate, impressions

This Razer controller is clearly a bet in the form of an alternative to the Xbox Elite Controller. This is a controller of excellent construction that stands out for the incorporation of interchangeable sticks y six extra buttons with which to configure macros and quick actions.

It is as we say a controller similar in functions to the Elite Controller, so those who are looking for a controller with extra functions and a touch of customization should take a look. But, although it looks like the Microsoft controller, this Razer controller has qualities that make it different.

On the one hand, we have the issue of cable. The controller is wired and does not allow you to connect it wirelessly to the console. Because? Basically because it is a controller designed for the demanding player who does not want to lose a millisecond of response time, which is why the manufacturer has directly opted to use a cable as a means of communication.

Taking this quality into account, you can get an idea that the controller is designed for pure and hard gamers, and we find that intention again in the action buttons. When we tried the controller for the first time, we had a very strange feeling with the buttons, since the travel of these is extremely short.

Contrary to Microsoft controls that have buttons with a deep and paused press, the Wolverine Ultimate includes some short haul switches to offer a very fast pulsation, with which almost by dropping your finger you will cause the pulsation. It is, as we say, a strange feeling at first if you come from using original Microsoft peripherals, but in the end you get used to it and you could even come to depend on it.

The additional triggers found at the bottom will be of great help to those who know how to take advantage of macros and their customization, but if you are not one to use extra aids, they could bother you. These buttons cannot be removed (as is the case with the Microsoft controller), and on certain occasions you could mistakenly press them while you are holding the controller or simply when you rest it on your lap.

Something we have also noticed is that the non-slip rubber from the bottom it grips the hand quite well, although as in the Elite, we miss a more adherent area in the upper part (something that the new Elite Controller 2 already offers). As always happens with every Razer product, we will also have at our disposal a set of LED lights that will give light and color to our games thanks to Chroma technology. It is a showy and striking detail at first, but it obviously has no impact on the user experience.

Taking into account that its official price is 180 euros and that the new Microsoft Elite Controller 2 can already be found in stores for the same price, this Razer option may be a bit lower. However, today it is possible to find it for 129 euros as is the case on Amazon, a price that does seem to us to be an interesting option to consider.

Razer Nari Ultimate

And from the controller we went to the headphones. This is a version specially designed for Xbox of a model that already existed in the Razer catalog. We refer to the Ultimate Nari, a wireless model that boasts hypersense from Razer, a technology developed by the company LoFelt and which is responsible for offering a haptic experience capable of converting the sound signal into vibration.

The result is a striking vibration that could work among the gaming public, however, our tests have offered us mixed results. On the one hand, it is striking that the headphones vibrate to the rhythm of what is happening on the screen, however, in the end, it comes down to something like this how to wear a subwoofer on your head.

That is, all sound that comes out of the console will be analyzed by the headphones so that it becomes a vibration. The sensation is strange and usually annoying, since there is no set compass between what happens on the screen and what we receive as vibration. To give you an idea, in a game of FIFA 20 coins the vibration is constantly active with the voices of the commentators and the shouts of the public. Do not expect punctual vibrations due to kicks, shots at the post or goal calls.

It all depends on the game you play. In Heavenly, For example, where the music has higher tones, the vibration responds better to jumps, hits and sound effects. But if we go to another game with more serious sounds, the vibration will be excessive and annoying.

This constant vibration is transformed into a significant hammering on your head, and it is something that I personally have found especially annoying. It may go unnoticed for some people, but in my case that vibration prevents me from seeing the image on the screen correctly. Have you experienced what it feels like to be near a speaker at a concert? And inside a car with a gigantic subwoofer? Well, that cerebral cocoa is the one that is noticeable with the Nari Ultimate when it is constantly vibrating. In the end, I opted to turn the feature off, as while it can be graduated in intensity, I haven't had great results with the haptic experience.

In terms of sound quality, the Nari Ultimate is still in line with what Razer offers with its range of headphones. They sound good in general, although if you prefer powerful and clear bass, the Astro A50 still seems like a better option to me. But there is a detail that makes these Nari Ultimate headphones very comfortable to use on Xbox One, and it is none other than the compatibility with the xbox wireless technology. You will only have to turn them on, press the synchronization button and do the same on the console for everything to start working. There will be no cables or annoying USB adapters, something that is undoubtedly a very positive point and offers you complete freedom.

Ergonomically they are very comfortable, with very generous pads both in size and padding, something that helps isolation from the outside, and that is, without being noise canceling headphones, its design protects quite well from outside noise. Of course, I miss a little more pressure that offers greater security when wearing them, since a sudden turn (you know how frantic multiplayer games can be) makes them move quite easily, and that is that the The pressure exerted by the headband on the head is quite gentle.

Something I didn't like either is that these models are only designed to be used on Xbox One or on a PC with the Xbox wireless adapter, since it does not include any headphone port with which to connect them to an analog audio output ( which does happen in the PC version). So forget about using them with your mobile or other device.

In short, we are facing very complete headphones with enough value to be placed in one of those recommended for use on Xbox One, however, it does not seem to us that its main attraction, that of vibration technology, is key when recommending your purchase. If you are looking for completely wireless headphones for your Xbox One with good sound, microphone and gamer touches, these Nari Ultimate will be an excellent option.
