The movie calendar is picking up speed now that pandemic restrictions have been eased. And, how could it be otherwise, we are facing a year in which Marvel premieres will be protagonists, advancing the phases of the UCM, its cinematographic universe. Specific, there are 3 Marvel movies that we will see this 2022 in movie theaters. Ye we tell everything about them, including release dates, plot, etc.
That Marvel is going to be, one more year, the queen of the billboard, few doubt it. For that, and after the impressive blockbuster of Spider-Man: no way home, comes with a trio of films for 2022 that will continue to expand its MCU, the most profitable universe in cinema, by far.
We review those 3 premieres in order of arrival on our screens. And yes, they are not especially movies that make you think too much, but to understand the MCU you have to pay a lot of attention, don't you think?
Doctor Strange: Into the Multiverse of Madness (May 6, 2022)
Doctor Strange opened the gates of the Multiverse in Spider-Man: No way home and that new source of possibilities continues to be exploited in his next film: Doctor Strange: Into the Multiverse of Madness.
Interestingly, This movie has not seen one, but two leaks of its script on the Internet. We cannot ensure that they are the real ones, but, apparently, the film has also suffered reshoots important and hence the delay to May.
Don't worry, we're not going to do it to you spoilers nor tell you the full possible argument.
What we can say, and the trailer confirms, is that along with Stephen Strange, Wong and America Chavez, scarlet witch appears and that the film connects, both with the possibilities of the multiverse opened up in the latest Spider-Man, as well as with what happened in the Disney+ series Wandavision.
So now you know, if you want to go to the movie well prepared, take a look at the series, if you haven't seen it yet.
Thor: Love and Thunder (July 8, 2022)
Taika Waikiki revitalized the most mediocre of Marvel sagas with Thor: Ragnarok. Apparently, the same humorous, colorful and slightly bizarre tone will paint the new installment, Thor: Love and Thunder. The formula worked and, obviously, they are not going to change it.
Little is known about the film yet and we do not have a trailer yet, but we can anticipate that Natalie Portman will have an important role as Lady Thor, a plot line that has already been seen in the comics.
In addition to that, we will see regular characters from the saga again, such as Korg, who will continue to be comic relief, while Tessa Thomson will once again don the Valkyria armor.
The cast could not be more full of talent and important names: Christian Bale, Matt Damon, Russell Crowe, Melissa McCarthy, Sam Neill, Chris Pratt… Without a doubt, just for power, it impresses.
In summer we will see if it is up to the task.
Black Panther 2: Wakanda Forever (November 11, 2022)
The unexpected death of Chadwick Boseman, the main actor who gave life to T'Challa, has necessarily made this second part of Black Panther have many changes from the previous success.
Again, not much is known about the plot, but we will not see the original Black Panther. The study has already confirmed that they are not going to replace Boseman with another actor, nor are they going to recreate him digitally.
The rumors are many. That if we will see the past of Wakanda, that if the mythical villain of the comics, Kraven the Hunter, will appear or that there would even be connections with Spider-Man.
One of the most well-founded rumors is that Namor, king of Atlantis and rival of Wakanda, will be introduced in the comics.
We will see how it ends and how they approach the enormous change that not having the main actor means.
As you can see, this 2022 we will be able to calm the craving for Marvel movies that, together with the new series that are coming (She-Hulk y MoonKnight) show that the superhero genre is not exhausted.
