Dinosaurs are still in fashion. Or at least that's what they think Scott Beck and Bryan Woods, in charge of the script and direction of 65, a new science fiction movie of which a few days ago we were finally able to see a first preview. Its trailer, full of moments of action, also puts us back to A (Marriage Story, Star Wars (Episodes VII and IX), House of gucci) on the big screen to the delight of all of us who are fans of the actor. But what exactly is the tape about? Are we in prehistory? in the future? We clarify everything for you (without spoilers, of course).
A trip to the past... from the future
2023 is full of great premieres and the movie 65 is a clear example of it. The film has been written and directed by Scott Beck and Bryan Woods (A peaceful place) and has Sam Raimi himself in the production. His commitment is clear: to have a well-known face, covered by the media and capable of carrying the full weight of the film and a story that mixes science fiction, the future and dinosaurs. There is nothing.
In this way we meet Adam Driver, an astronaut named Mills who has an accident with his ship after colliding with a meteorite. Because of this, he crash-lands on an unknown, apparently uninhabited "celestial body" where he finds a girl, Koa (Ariana Greenblatt), a survivor of a previous expedition. While they see the way to be rescued from there, both will discover to their regret that they really are in Earth 65 million years ago -hence the name of the film- and that, as it happened then, it is not really empty: all kinds of species of dinosaurs reign freely in it.
As you can see, it is a mixture of past and future whose plot is inevitably reminiscent of a combo between the movie Planet of the Apes and the famous jurassic park saga, with some protagonists having to fight with large beasts to survive.
