We have already seen how LEGO has managed to give life to creations inspired by the world of Nintendo, but it seems that someone is willing to take a closer look at video games. And it is that the people of Diamond Lobby decided to use the famous blocks to recreate the most iconic stages of the Call of Duty franchise. Can you imagine being able to have a model of Rust in your living room? Well that's just what you could do with these designs.
Call of Duty brought to LEGO
In Diamond Lobby they wanted to do something different and special, and for that they decided to use the program Bricklink Studio 2.0. It is a software that allows you to design constructions based on LEGO blocks in three dimensions, since this program offers you the opportunity to browse each and every one of the blocks that exist in the brand's catalog in order to create constructions virtual that can later be brought to life in the real world.
So technically they haven't brought Call of Duty maps to life with LEGO pieces, but they have virtually brought them to life, thus being able to calculate the number of pieces needed for construction, as well as the total cost of the entire set. How much would it cost to assemble a map of Call of Duty in LEGO?
Some gigantic sets
With the help of designer Evghenii Loctev, they recreated the franchise's most famous and iconic maps, with great results. But to get the perfect image, they decided to place the camera in a position where they could get an image similar to the loading screens of each map. So, with some lighting tweaks, they managed to get an identical look to the maps in the game.
Unfortunately they have not shared the resources of each Bricklink Studio creation, so we simply have these static images that serve to imagine what the creations would look like. These are all the maps created with their necessary pieces and the total cost of the project:
- crash: 2.167 blocks at a cost of $1.340. It has dimensions of 1,11 x 1,46 x 0,43 meters.
- Castle: 12.873 blocks at a cost of $2.508. It has dimensions of 1,56 x 2,02 x 0,64 meters.
