If they had told us about The New Mutants A long time ago we wouldn't have believed it. It turns out that the long-awaited anti-hero movie has been shooting for three years and in all that time it has not found a way to appear on the big screen. The last attempt, of course, was last April, but a pandemic crossed his path - who was going to say - and he complained again in a drawer. It's already bad luck.
What's up with The New Mutants?
What of The New Mutants It is the never ending story. Up to five dates we have come to know for the premiere of this film that was left ready for shooting back in 2017. And the reasons Due to such a delay, they have been very varied: from last-minute changes in photography -which it seems were never made- to scheduling strategies to avoid coinciding with other films on the billboard.
But without a doubt the loudest was the purchase of fox, responsible for the film, by Disney. The negotiations between the two firms were more intense than initially expected and this caused the installment, belonging to the X-Men franchise, to receive a new date on the calendar.
Everything seemed that it would finally be a bad dream with its launch on April 3, but, look at what things are, one pandemic took over our planet. Filming stopped, the industry took a hiatus (which still lasts, of course) and theaters closed their doors, once again causing The New Mutants did not see the light on the big screen and will be pending release.
But the show must go on and Disney has returned to the fray with a new date. It will be the fifth that is proposed for this film that some say seems to be cursed. Will it finally be, now yes, the final one?
New date for The New Mutants
As we said, the person now responsible for this superhero horror movie has decided to put it back on the agenda. If nothing fails (and we don't all have it with us) the film will be released in theaters on 28 August of this same 2020.
It is assumed that the new normality should allow us to go to movie theaters in a few weeks, obviously not with the capacity of before, but finally being able to enjoy the big screen in a controlled manner. The big distributors count on it and there are already several films that have been organized for their debut since mid-summer.
Remember that Christopher Nolan intends to "open" the theaters with his great and long-awaited film Tenet el 17 July (within only two months, which is said soon) and that a week later we will presumably have Mulan on billboard. Wonder Woman 1984, the great heroine of DC, would arrive on August 14 to later give way, if nothing goes wrong, to these new mutants. We'll see if they finally get it.
