The life of John Ronald Reuel Tolkien, better known to most as JRR Tolkien, will soon be told in theaters around the world. Tolkien , which is what the name is biopic, will help us to get to know this great writer, author of many works, but especially famous for two great and popular classic novels published and framed within the genre of fantastic literature: The Hobbit y The Lord of the Rings.
JRR Tolkien was born in 1892 in South Africa and in addition to his vocation as a writer (and poet), he also worked as a teacher, having trained as a philologist and linguist. He was married to Edith Mary Bratt and had four children, one of whom took it upon himself to publish some never-before-seen manuscripts years after his death, from which The Silmarillion y The sons of Húrin. These two editions, along with the aforementioned The Hobbit y The Lord of the Rings, form a whole framework that takes place in the so-called world of Middle Earth.
The film will show us early youth of an orphaned Tolkien, how he establishes his friendship, the discovery of his great love (when he meets Edith) and his participation as a soldier in the First World War. The spectator will be able to verify as well as all these life experiences ended up influencing his great creative capacity and the writings of his works that would result in some of the greatest best sellers of history.
The film is directed by Dome Karukoski, written by David Gleeson, Stephen Beresford and starring Nicholas Hoult, in the role of John, and Lily Collins, in charge of giving life to his wife. The film should be released on May 10 in theaters in the US for a little later (or even before, who knows) to appear in Spanish cinemas.

With an air that is quite reminiscent of The Theory of Everything, it is true that for the moment it tells us and says rather little.
