Chernobyl was without a doubt one of the great surprises of 2019. The mini TV series, broadcast on HBO, recounted with shocking realism what happened on April 26, 1986 at the Vladimir Ilich Lenin nuclear power plant, however, not everyone liked how the story was told. The Russian press was against the story (in which the Russians do not come out well, of course) and now the answer has just arrived: there is a new story (in format movie) about Chernobyl and now they are the Russians those who tell it
Chernobyl, the big surprise
Few expected that a series that tells us something that we all already know more than enough could catch us so much. chernobyl, created by Craig Mazin and directed by Johan Renck, has meant one of the best premieres that are remembered on the HBO platform, making up a miniseries of only 5 chapters in which what happened on the day of the biggest nuclear accident in our history is recounted with overwhelming realism.
A setting of 10, some fantastic performances, an accompanying soundtrack and a fantastic script are just some of the great ingredients that made the series come to be nominated for no less than 19 Emmys and is today considered one of the best. HBO proposals, both by users and by the review specialized.
Despite so much praise, there was a sector that did not receive this television drama with such optimism. We are referring, of course, to Russian opinion, in disagreement with the way in which things were told and, above all, the way in which the country was left. So much so that they have not been slow to respond with the development of a film about the accident, baptized (initially) as Chernobyl. Abbys, which we now know will be seen around the world.

Chernobyl. abyss -which is now just Chernobyl- It is the first major Russian feature film to depict the aftermath of the explosion at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant. It is directed by Danila Kozlovsky (and produced by Alexander Rodnyansky and Sergey Melkumov (They raised)) and wants to be the ultimate opportunity for people to give Russian cinema a chance.
Not only in Russia, of course. Now we have found out, through an exclusive media Deadline, that the tape has been acquired by numerous distributors around the world, which means that the film will be available in a good part of the planet. Capelight Pictures has taken over its rights, for example in North America and Germany, PoongKyung in South Korea, BF Distribution in Latin America, Twin in Japan... As for Spain, the prize goes to it mediaset, who has also seen potential in the film.
In the absence of knowing when it will be released (it should appear at some point in 2020), at least we already have a trailer, in Russian, yes, so that you get a first idea of what you are going to find. Get comfortable, press the play and go preparing yourself to know the story "from the other side".
