Amazon has surprisingly introduced new Echo speaker models with which to continue expanding its family of smart speakers, and although it is an update of an existing version and the launch of a completely new model, what has caught our attention the most are the prices. And it is that they have risen considerably.
The Echo with a screen is renewed
El Echo Show 5 It has been one of the Echos most in demand by the public. His 5,5 inch allows you to enjoy multimedia content, is capable of video conferencing, use the speaker as a surveillance camera or see the weather forecast with icons and more details. Its many offers have allowed it to be obtained at ridiculous prices of up to 40 euros, although its official price was always 85 euros.
The newly introduced new generation offers the usual changes, that is, better sound thanks to the new speaker technology that Amazon is now capable of implementing. It is millimeter more compact, but not much more, although it is slightly deeper, probably due to the size of the speaker, which goes from having a diameter of 42 millimeters to 44 millimeters.
At the processor level, the brain has been improved by placing a MediaTek MT8169B, which will improve the specifications compared to the MediaTek MT8163 that the previous generation mounts. This can be translated into faster Alexa responses and faster menus, with the possibility of playing multimedia content with greater ease. According to Amazon, the device is 20% faster than its predecessor.
A scary price hike
The main problem with the new Echo Show 5 is that its official price is $105, and that represents an increase of no less than 20 euros compared to the price that we previously found in the second generation of the speaker. As of today, the second generation Echo Show 5 can be bought on sale at 65 euros, and we do not rule out that it will go down even more with the idea of ending all possible stock.
When choosing between one version or another, with current prices we would obviously opt for the second-generation Echo Show 5, since the news might not be so decisive for all users.
An Echo cut with katana
On the other hand, we have the new EchoPop, which is only one of the echo spheres cut in half. The result is quite original, and thanks to the color options in which it is available, it could become a speaker in high demand by users. Available in Lavender and Teal (in addition to the classic black and white), the speaker is priced at $54,99 and it will draw special attention due to its small dimensions, as it is only 10 centimeters wide.
It is one of the cheapest Echo, so we do not rule out seeing it at an extremely low price on the typical Prime Day or Black Friday.
