Dyson has finally decided to renew his family within the range of robot vacuum cleaners. The brand, known for its exquisite products for the home, has announced a new model called 360 Heurists willing to improve his previous autonomous equipment. Will he get it?
Dyson 360 Heurist: this sounds familiar
While Dyson has been around for quite some time in the cordless stick vacuum sector, in the segment of autonomous robotic models it has taken things easy. Quite calmly, in fact. Such is the case that since the brand announced its 360 Eye model in 2017, the firm had not returned to bet on this format despite the popularity they have gained in recent years.
Until today, of course. The firm has announced its new 360 Heurists, a model that drinks a lot (a lot) from its predecessor, betting again on a design that stands out for being quite compact but at the same time taller than usual compared to other models of robot vacuum cleaners.
This characteristic "style" has a important advantage and at the same time a great disadvantage: while it's true that it takes up less space than others, its height prevents it from getting under a lot of furniture, where other robot vacuum cleaners fit without problems.
What does change is the color (now it is azul instead of gray) and a button has been added in the upper area with several icons that show the status of the robot (battery charge level, obstructions or the status of the WiFi connection, among others.). Despite this, of course, you can manage everything from an app called DysonLink, with which it is possible to program the vacuum cleaner, create zones on the map or regulate the power of the cleaning device (it has three levels).
And how about clean? Well, to find out, obviously, we will have to wait to try it, but qualities to do it well are not lacking: the robot repeat motor, the Dyson V2, which continues to rotate at 78.000 rpm, although with this it now achieves a 20% more suction than its predecessor, they promise. Its filters also ensure that it captures allergens and particles down to 0,3 microns, expelling cleaner air "than the air we breathe," says Dyson. The firm has also increased the speed of rotation of its brush, to be more efficient.
The vacuum cleaner has eight sensors with which he manages to visualize a field with a diameter of four meters around him: two of them are of obstacles and they are located in the front part so as not to hit the objects with which they collide with force; two others are from falls (to avoid stairs and unevenness); two more than wall, which allow the robot to suck as close as possible to the wall; and finally it has two of long-range with those who view at a distance of up to two meters.
With all of them and its own mapping technology that have also improved in this new version, the robot configures a map of our home that it updates every time it vacuums -it has a quad-core processor and 10 gigabytes of memory for it-, knowing In addition, at all times where you are and can even move in the dark thanks to the insertion of 8 LEDs.
Dyson 360 Heurist: price and availability
Dyson's new robot vacuum cleaner is available from today, March 23, at the brand's official store.
As for its price, we already anticipated it at the beginning: the robot has improved some of its features but not because of this its price, which is still so high end as was its predecessor. In fact, the same price is placed as the Dyson 360 Eye, costing the round figure of 999 euros.
