Philips announced a new accessory within its range of Philips Hue products with which they are finally going to provide a solution to one of the great drawbacks of using smart home bulbs. We mean the one that prevents you from being able to remotely control a light bulb because someone flipped the switch that allows electricity to reach it.
Philips Hue will make any switch smart
If you have smart bulbs at home, whatever manufacturer they are and use the connectivity technology they use (Bluetooth, ZigBee, etc.), you will know that there is nothing more infuriating than trying to control them remotely through their application or voice commands and that appear as offline.
This usually happens when, for example, we have network problems or interference. Although the most common reason is that one of the people who live with you or directly you press the switch on the wall. And it is logical, because until you become aware it is easy to fall into an action that we have automated after so many years of repeating it every day.
Well, Philips is now announcing a new accessory of the product range Philips Hue that allows you to turn any switch into a smart one. And this is what allows us to solve this problem that we are sure that, like us, you have suffered on more than one occasion if you have smart bulbs installed at home.

Of course, the best thing about this new proposal is that you won't have to do strange things with the switch you already have installed and it will continue to be fully operational when turning the lights on or off. The only difference is that it will work in the same way as if it were the Philips Hue Smart Button or the wireless control that the brand offers, which means that it will never cut off the electricity and the bulb will be receiving current continuously.
In addition, these new smart switches that you can have at home can be configured from the Philips app to directly turn on, off or activate a specific scene that you may have defined. Which means it could control multiple lights at once.
A very simple installation process
The only negative point that could be put to this new Philips Hue accessory is that it requires minimal installation. In any case, if you manage a bit in electricity issues, it will not be difficult for you and with the appropriate security measures it will be a matter of minutes to have everything operational.
So the only thing left for you is to wait for them to go on sale if you want to gradually or suddenly change all the switches in the house. Because in Europe they will be launched during the spring this year and in the United States it will do so at the end of the year.
Regarding the price, the individual pack will cost 39,95 euros while the one made up of two units will cost 69,95 euros. A saving of 10 euros that if you are going to buy it will be interesting to take advantage of.
