LG already has a Smart Monitor like Samsung that is very cool, but it is expensive

LG Smart Monitor

LG has gotten very creative when it comes to monitors. After being a clear exponent and defender of the ultra panoramic models, surprised with the launch of the DualUp model with 16:18 format, and now presents the SmartMonitor 32SQ780S, a monitor with its famous operating system webOS and with connectivity AirPlay.

What is this monitor for?

LG Smart Monitor

With a size of 32 inches, its panel offers a 4 x 3.840 pixel 2.160K resolution with a refresh rate of 60 Hz. It is a generous monitor in inches, and that curiously does not include a fixed base to let it rest on a table, but its default support is a vertical arm that must be adjusted on the edge of table.

This peculiarity lets us see a bit of its mobility intentions, a mobility that will always be conditioned by its generous dimensions, but which will allow you to place it anywhere, especially due to its connectivity.

That's where the port comes into play USB-C which dominates the rest of the connections. And it is that through this 65W port we can feed the monitor, being able to simply connect it to a MacBook so that the screen starts working.

With remote control, Smart TV and AirPlay

But it is his facet of entertainment where he ends up completely attracting attention. This screen carries webOS as an operating system, so it works like any of the Smart TVs that LG has in your catalog (but without antenna input, of course). As usual in the brand, this operating system comes accompanied by the Magic Remote, a remote control with an accelerometer with which you can navigate the interface by moving a pointer on the screen with simple movements of the wrist.

Obviously you can make use of streaming services such as Netflix and Prime Video, and for this it also includes two 5W speakers so you don't need extra speakers. And finally, the possibility of taking the image of an iOS or macOS device through AirPlay 2.

The function ThinQ Home of the operating system raises the idea of being able to control your smart devices from an interface that centralizes everything you have automated at home. The idea is interesting, but the reality is that not all products support this interface and you won't be able to control everything unless you look for things specifically supported by the platform.

A very complete monitor for a very low profile

The qualities of the monitor are exceptional, however, its audience could be quite small. It is a proposal that we have already been able to see in other brands such as Samsung with its Smart Monitor, and that is looking for users who also use the desktop computer as an entertainment device. The 32-inch size can function as a television in small rooms or studios, so the idea is very interesting, but as we say, with its price of 500 dollars (we imagine that it will be 500 or 550 euros), it is possible that many opt for something cheaper.

Currently the monitor is listed on Amazon in the United States with a price of U.S. dollar 499,99, but it will not be available in stock until later.
