Xiaomi aims at the high end with its new television
The Xiaomi TV ES Pro 86 is the new member of the Xiaomi television family. As its name suggests, its main attraction is its huge 86-inch panel, with 4K resolution. We also talk about a television with a refresh rate of 120 Hz and with a response time of only 4 milliseconds.
Panel Features and Image Processing
Regarding the quality of the panel, Xiaomi says that this television covers the 94% of the DCI-P3 color spectrum. Xiaomi has not given the data on the contrast level of this new television, but it has emphasized the brightness level of the screen, which goes up to 1.000 nits. This feature will be key for those users who have a living room that is fairly well lit with natural light and where placing a large television can be an ordeal.
In addition, the panel supports AMD FreeSync Premium and VRR (Variable Refresh Rate), which means that we are facing the perfect television to play with the next generation consoles. All the management of the television is possible thanks to an ARM Cortex-A73 chip with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage.
Sound
Sound on this new TV is courtesy of two 15 watt speakers, which offer a combined power of 30 W RMS. These speakers integrated into the Xiaomi TV ES Pro 86 will be compatible with Dolby Atmos.
Connectivity
Regarding connectivity, the first thing that stands out is the support of HDMI 2.1, something essential to be able to enjoy content in 4K resolution at 120 Hz. The television also has two additional HDMI 2.0 connectors, an S/PDIF connector and two conventional USB. We also have AV input, antenna input and an RJ45 Ethernet port.
MIUITV?
The operating system chosen for this model is MIUI TV, but there should be no panic. At the moment, the TV is only going to be sold in China, and Xiaomi usually chooses this system for this market. Later, when Xiaomi televisions arrive in Europe, they are usually accompanied by Android TV.
A television that for now is reserved for the Chinese market
At the moment, the Xiaomi TV ES Pro 86 television will only be released in China at a price of 7.999 yuan for the first few days. As of May 31, the model will go up to its official price: 8.499 yuan, which equates to about 1.175 euros. The brand has not yet communicated whether or not it plans to bring this television to Europe, so we will have to wait for news. However, seeing the success of other models from this firm, it would be strange if this television did not end up arriving sooner or later.
