Samsung returns to the fray with the new range of Smart Monitor monitors, that family of light, elegant screens that look so good in minimalist offices and desks. If you were thinking of a change of scene from the desk and you are looking for something that inspires you every day (as well as having excellent image quality), these new monitors could be just what you were looking for.
Elegance with many styles
The new range of monitors Smart Monitor of 2023 has presented three different versions, M8, M7 and M5 that will allow offering different sizes and characteristics to meet the demand of different types of users. As always, this family of monitors is characterized by including intelligent functions that will allow you to connect to the Internet and enjoy streaming video services, install applications and offer the help of integrated assistants (Bixby y Alexa in the case of the M8 and M7).
All versions are compatible with a small webcam that can be used directly with the Google Duo application, although this accessory will only come included in the M8 model, so it will have to be purchased separately for other models.
SmartMonitor M8
Its minimalist and colorful design is inevitably reminiscent of Apple's iMacs. This monitor is the most advanced model in the family, and it has, in addition to the four color options (pink, blue, green or white), a panel capable of reaching 400 cd/m2 of brightness and offering compatibility with HDR10+.
Available in a single 32-inch version, it is the most spectacular model in terms of design, and it is probably one of the most desired due to its performance. Its native resolution is 4K at 60 Hz, and yes, like its brothers it is completely flat.
SmartMonitor M7
A slightly more subdued version of the M8. It maintains the 4K resolution in 32 inches, but both brightness and HDR compatibility drop to 300 cd/m2 and HDR10. The color options it offers are limited to a white color model, so you won't find too many options in this case. It is a monitor that reduces the price of the highest range and allows you to reach 4K.
SmartMonitor M5
The cheapest option is achieved thanks to a Full HD panel in sizes 32 and 27 inches. The brightness drops to 250 cd/m2 and also offers HDR10. For the rest, all the features are similar to each other, with the Smart TV platform as the main attraction.
Are they gaming monitors?
Samsung's Smart Monitors are not looking for the gamer public. As you may have seen, these monitors take precedence over the design, sophistication and versatility offered by a Smart TV platform such as the one included. The idea is that in addition to using the screen with a PC or laptop, you can give it more uses such as a smart TV to watch content from Netflix, Apple TV and other streaming services.
