The foldable Samsung Galaxy could mount three rear cameras

We start the year with new rumors related to the samsung foldable phone, since, if we had previously heard information related to its folding technology or some firmware details, today the information is related to its camera. Or rather, its triple camera.

Three cameras instead of four

Samsung Galaxy A9

The news comes from ET News, the Korean medium that has previously been correct with previous rumors and that on this occasion has received some information related to the cameras of the device. This decision is surprising considering that Samsung's latest big camera setup goes through a row of 4 sensors on the latest Galaxy A9, but it could be expected knowing that the future Galaxy S10 nor will it have such a distribution (will also bet on three cameras).

Either for reasons of space or because the manufacturer prefers to get the most out of three sensors, the main feature of the so-called Galaxy fold It will not be the cameras, but rather its possibility of becoming a larger device thanks to the characteristics of its screen.

Folding screen and secondary screen

As we could see in the first (and obscure) public appearance of the terminal, the Galaxy fold It will have a screen that will fold its internal face to stay protected, leaving a second screen that will act as the main screen when we have the terminal closed. If we follow the clues left by this first contact, we can see how this secondary screen does not occupy the entire surface of the device, leaving a fairly generous gap in the upper part of it.

The ET News leak does not say anything about the front camera that this new device will use, so we will have to see if the manufacturer chooses to include one integrated into the screen through a hole (in the style of the Galaxy A8s) or if, on the contrary, it will use that large hole in the secondary screen to place the trio of main cameras and use them as front cameras with the help of the smaller screen, which would act as a digital mirror.

Although for now they are all rumors, ET News sources do not usually fail in these cases, so we will see if the manufacturer is encouraged to reveal more details at CES in Las Vegas that will begin in the next few days, or if, on the contrary, would rather wait for the MWC to give more clues about its highly anticipated foldable phone.
