Animaionic has done (or almost) what Apple should have done with Mac mini

ANIMAIONIC eGPU Mac Min

Since the presentation of the Mac mini, the Apple team became, at least for me, eGPU Mac. A fairly capable team with an important weak point for many users: graphic power. Not having a dedicated GPU, compared to the iMac range, it started at a disadvantage. For this reason, this ANIMAIONIC solution can be very attractive for those who are looking for an Apple desktop and the new Mac Pro is too big for them.

ANIMAIONIC and its way of giving vitamins to the Mac Mini

Today Apple's new Mac Pro goes on sale and also its new screen. Two teams designed for the professional public that demands high performance. But there is a wide spectrum of users who are looking for an Apple desktop with which to perform a wide variety of tasks without breaking the bank.

For them, the iMac range is the most complete if having an all-in-one with an integrated screen is not a problem. If so, if you don't want a monitor, then the only option is the Mac mini. This is an interesting computer but with a major lack in terms of graphics performance. Not having a powerful card falls short in tasks such as editing, 3D animation or video games.

The solution? Connect an eGPU to it. To avoid the mess of cables and give the set a much more pro and compact appearance, ANIMAIONIC what we could consider as a vitaminized Dock that not only allows you to expand the connections, but also allows the use of up to two graphics cards. This would achieve a set very similar to what one of these small mini ATX PCs would be. But before continuing, take a look at the video.

With a design very similar to the Apple team, this gray finish allows great integration that the Apple user will surely appreciate.

Regarding the improvements it provides, the most striking are that you can configure two graphics cards and up to four SSD drives. Then there is the HDMI output, ethernet connection, USB C and USB A as well as audio output. In short, due to its design and features, it is a product that the vast majority of users will surely like, and especially all those who opted for the little Apple.

The ANIMAIONIC dock problem

Do you find it interesting and attractive? Well, there is a small problem. This for now is no longer just a project on Kickstarter. To carry it out, the goal is set at almost 600.000 euros. An amount that is not impossible but complicated due to the target audience to which the product is directed.

In addition, the final price of it would also be a barrier for some, since during the financing process it would cost a few $800. Then it would go up as is logical and as has happened with other projects within the financing platform.

Therefore, although the idea is great and fits perfectly into what many would have asked Apple for, we will have to be patient and see if they actually manage to materialize it or not.
