The founder of Telegram has stopped eating to 'contribute new ideas' to the application

Pavel Durov

Public figures often have a plus of responsibility. They are a reference for many people and have the ability to spread a message with a louder voice than someone anonymous. That is why it is very dangerous for someone like Pavel Durov, Founder of Telegram, is telling his followers how well everything is going for him since he started… stop eating.

A diet taken to the extreme by Durov

Pavel Durov, founder of Telegram, has his own channel on said platform in which, in addition to publishing news related to the service, he usually shares thoughts and personal reflections. A few days ago he did exactly the latter, publishing an extensive text with much more danger than one might initially think.

In it, Durov tells how it has been its relationship with food in the last 15 years and how the changes made have influenced their performance and concentration at work. The manager points out that he has not consumed any alcohol, caffeine, meat, pills of any kind or fast food for more than a decade. He assures that thanks to this, in 15 years he has only had a fever once, so it could be said that this type of diet has helped him never get sick.

A year ago, however, the founder of Telegram decided to go a step further by adding "more restrictions«, as he himself admits, to his diet. He stopped consuming gluten, dairy, eggs, and fructose. "I did it to achieve greater productivity and clarity of thought, as well as to train willpower and self-discipline," he says in his text.

The thing is not there. Dúrov assures that in May of this year he forced the machinery a little more, limiting his diet to fish and seafood. He explains that it makes much more evolutionary sense than veganism or rawism -yes, what I practiced the youtuber who was caught eating fish recently - and who highly recommends it for increase productivity.

Water

Is this sounding crazy to you? Well, wait there's more. It turns out that since the tensing of the rope (and the body) is going so "well", this month he has taken a more radical step: stop eating. what you are reading The founder of Telegram has been days drinking only water, what he has done, he assures, that he feels better and that he has greater clarity of thought:

Fasting is a great way to allow your digestive system to cleanse and reset […] Our hunter-gatherer ancestors had to go without food for extended periods of time, so our bodies not only evolved for that, but actually He expects us to give him a break in consumption at least once a year. That is why most religions have a tradition of fasting: it is healthy and necessary for both body and mind.

Obviously, I might lose some muscle mass as a result, but I think that if I can bring new ideas to Telegram during the fast, it will be beneficial for all the millions of Telegram users.

Although water is tremendously beneficial for our body and it has been proven that periods materials (we repeat: controlled, by a specialist) of fasting can also become positive for human beings, it is very dangerous and counterproductive to launch such a message on a public channel to so many thousands of people. It is true that we do not know how long you will be ingesting only water (the human body cannot prolong this situation indefinitely), but whatever the time, it is a very unwise recommendation -so was the fact of suggesting eating only fish or other baseless practices, of course.

Even intermittent fasting, so fashionable now, is not recommended in certain cases, including those with eating disorders or who have a toxic relationship with food. Spreading these eating practices without even the slightest warning and simply indicating the great benefits it has for a supposed "mental clarity" is at least daring and irresponsible by the founder of Telegram.

[Thanks for the warning, Eliodoro.]
