AYANEO has begun to deploy all the machinery with the launch of its new AYANEO 2S. The new console is characterized mainly by including the new AMD 7840U processor, a new generation brain that is capable of reaching truly spectacular figures in very demanding games. Do you want to know how the console behaves?
Playing with full potential
The new console more or less maintains the aesthetics of its predecessor, however, the big changes are inside. And it is that the new AMD brain manufactured with 4 nanometer technology, mounts architecture Zen4, with a maximum frequency of 5,1 Ghz and 16 MB of L3 cache. Its performance reaches up to 30W of power, so it is capable of pushing the graphics performance to the maximum, which is based on the RDNA3 architecture (Radeon 780M).
To control such a beast, a new dissipation structure made up of three copper cores will efficiently cool the inside of the machine, also including more openings for air extraction, thus achieving a constant and effective flow.
The 7-inch screen offers a bezel-less design that achieves a very premium look for the device. This panel has a native resolution of 1.920 x 1.200 pixels, 500 nits of maximum brightness and a contrast ratio of 1200:1.
How powerful?
To clear up any doubts, AYANEO has published the first tests with its console, showing that it can handle high-calibre games, moving them at spectacular speeds. In testing, the settings handle various factors. On the one hand, some tests focus on reducing the resolution to 800p to achieve more energy efficiency and not make the processor suffer so much. On the other hand, other tests choose to go up to the native 1200p resolution and squeeze the TDP to the maximum up to 30W.
The results are the following:
Forza Horizon 5 | Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice | Horizon Zero Dawn | Elden Ring | |
---|---|---|---|---|
800p Graphics Low @ 15W | 100~112FPS | 60 FPS | 49~59FPS | 39~49FPS |
800p Graphics High @ 15W | 69~83FPS | 49~59FPS | 33~38FPS | 39~45FPS |
800p Graphics Low @ 22W | 131~141FPS | 60 FPS | 62~72FPS | 58~60FPS |
800p Graphics High @ 22W | 72~80FPS | 60 FPS | 44~52FPS | 48~58FPS |
1200p Graphics Low @ 22W | 91~100FPS | 50~57FPS | 31~34FPS | 40~43FPS |
800p Graphics Low @ 30W | 133~147FPS | 60 FPS | 67~80FPS | 60 FPS |
800p Graphics High @ 30W | 98~109FPS | 60 FPS | 51~64FPS | 54~60FPS |
1200p Graphics High @ 30W | 81~85FPS | 41~60FPS | 33~37FPS | 29~36FPS |
As you can see, the performance of the console is spectacular, since they are quite demanding games and that in most cases run at spectacular speeds. The 1200p resolution is basically what reduces performance the most, so it might be interesting to always remember to lower the resolution to get better results and save battery life.
It's purchasable?
The AYANEO 2S has already started its classic financing campaign with which to buy the console at a reduced price. It is available through IndieGogo, and as always there will be limited units depending on the promotion you choose.
