Samsung will introduce Bixby's distant cousin at CES

NEON Samsung AI

2019 has been a good year for artificial intelligence, since thanks to the arrival of many smart devices in millions of homes, users have learned to take advantage of these virtual assistants that help so much in our day to day. But the concept of artificial intelligence still needs to improve, since the interaction with humans is not entirely credible. The solution? It seems that Samsung has found her.

NEON, an artificial intelligence to talk to

In a couple of weeks the CES of Las Vegas, and at said event Samsung will announce its new artificial intelligence product: NEON. Contrary to what you might think, it seems that NEON It will have nothing to do with the hitherto known Bixby, since this product developed by STAR laboratories (Samsung Technology & Advanced Research Labs) aims to offer an "AI close to the human level capable of speaking, recognizing and thinking".

The description certainly sounds quite futuristic, and if so, there is no doubt that it will be different not only from Bixby, but from any other assistant we know today. The only thing the manufacturer has shown for now is a series of teasers published on different social networks, flagged with the same question. Have you ever met an artificial?

Nothing to do with Bixby

With the idea of clearing up possible confusion, the official NEON account on Twitter has clarified that the product has absolutely nothing to do with Bixby, so we can hardly buy it with what we have seen so far. The question that generates us is what exactly we are going to see in the manufacturer's scenario, since we could be talking about a robot, an assistant in the form of a hologram or any other type of futuristic solution with which to put a face to artificial intelligence.

The main mistake of artificial intelligence

Today, solutions based on artificial intelligence facilitate many tasks, but they are still actions executed with simple commands and without too many variables. This simplicity takes away a lot from the final experience, since practically every action forces the user to think about the question before launching it. With a more complete artificial intelligence capable of generating conversations, we could achieve more fluid and complete communications, beyond “turn off the light in the living room” or “what is the weather like today”.
