Lenovo's foldable laptop
At the beginning of the year we had the opportunity to know the ThinkPad X1 Fold in person. A frankly striking proposal that we admit convinced us. So much so that the feeling we got after using it was that, indeed, the future will be foldable.
The ThinkPad X1 Fold is a foldable laptop thanks to the use of its flexible OLED panel which once deployed offers us a screen with a total diagonal of 13,3″. Although there will be more ways to use the equipment and that is what makes it so attractive compared to other proposals on the market. That and the Windows operating system, with all that this implies at the level of applications and also the user interface.
When the device is closed, it occupies almost the same size as a book. And that is interesting because it is very comfortable to transport on a day-to-day basis, but when you want to work with it you can decide how to do it and based on that you will gain other advantages.
For example, you can use it in tablet mode, thus taking advantage of the improvements of the Windows 10 interface when used by touch controls. you can also use it like a "traditional" laptop and where one of the halves of the screen will become a virtual keyboard or you can place a physical keyboard that is also available. And finally, you can unfold the screen to the maximum and leave the device on a table to interact with it in the traditional way with a keyboard and mouse.
Here Lenovo's idea is to offer a device capable of adapting to the needs of mobile users without weighing down the experience when they are in a quieter environment or require certain extras to work more comfortably. And it works pretty well, because you can go with either a 9,6-inch or a 13,3-inch desktop.
ThinkPad X1 Fold, features
Physically you have already seen it, but what does this ThinkPad X1 Fold offer at the level of technical specifications. Well then, It is not a team with which you will be able to perform super demanding tasks such as running games or applications with a high graphic load. But it will have enough power for more day-to-day uses that you could not or would not do so efficiently with other devices due to a simple matter of operating systems.

On a technical level, it is a quite striking and capable proposal. With the logical limitations of hardware designed for a highly portable device and with the differentiating feature of being foldable. Although we also remember that there are still aspects where it must be improved in future generations.
The first and most obvious is that it is too thick, so it does not look so good on an aesthetic level. The second is the hinge system, which while it offers a sturdy feel and a pleasant opening and closing experience, there's no denying that it's also a bit clunky.
However, current technology is what it is and certain commitments must be made to achieve a device with these characteristics and with this particular form factor. Although worst of all, at least for lovers of the latest, is that its price skyrockets 3.999 euros.
If you want a ThinkPad X1 Fold you will have to pay four thousand euros for it and a little more if you want the version with a 5G module to have connectivity regardless of whether or not you have a nearby WiFi network.
