Do you remember the AirPower? This accessory was Apple's commitment to the wireless chargingHowever, serious problems in the manufacturing process ended up forcing Cupertino to cancel the project. Apparently the peculiar design of the accessory caused the base to heat up dangerously, so, after many tests and prototypes, Apple canceled the product. But it seems that there is someone who has taken over.
Zens Liberty with 16 coils
Just take a look at the eye-catching glass version of the Zen Liberty to see that its interior looks very similar to the conceptual design registered by Apple in an official patent. As we can see, the device has a total of 16 superimposed coils in the form of a honeycomb so that this distribution would facilitate the placement of the device when charging it.
If you have used horizontal wireless charging bases, you will have noticed that sometimes you have to position the device conscientiously for the charging to begin, since if we get confused we could not correctly align the coil of the base with the internal coil of the phone. At Apple they thought that if they created a mesh of coils they could solve the problem, however, they did not take into account the limitations that would appear when designing such a system.

The problems got worse and the solutions did not arrive, so after announcing it and even appearing named in the boxes of the new AirPods, Apple was forced to cancel the product forever. However, coincidences of life, today we came across this product from Zens, a wireless kiss with a very similar layout that will allow you to charge up to two devices simultaneously.
How much does it cost?
The manufacturer has presented two different models, one called the Kvadrat edition, which uses a textile material called Atlas (90% wool) that offers a very pleasant texture to the touch while achieving a very original design. Its price is $139,99. On the other hand, the limited glass edition presents a transparent design from which to see the interior of the product with the 16 coils that make up the wireless charger. This model is priced at $179,99.
In addition, each model has an extra USB port in which to connect an additional device that needs to be charged by cable. Said port is placed on the back, a location defined by the manufacturer for a reason that will be revealed soon (possibly it will present a compatible modular accessory, such as an arm to place the Apple Watch similar to the one on another of your models from the catalog). These new wireless bases will hit the market next month of November, so you won't have to wait too long to get hold of them. At least we will have to wait less than what we would have to wait with Apple.
