Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War It has surprised us with its incredible graphics (in addition to the story, which we'll talk about another day), but it seems that for some users, the graphics isn't being too surprising, and rightly so. The problem? A confusion with the Ultimate version.
Am I playing the correct version?
If you have a PS5 and you bought the Ultimate version of Call of Duty: Black Ops or, failing that, the cross-gen bundle to go from the ps4 version to that of PS5, you may be one of the users affected by the problem. And it is that when you buy the article and have access to the installation options to download in parts, if you select the "Download all" option you will install both the PS4 and PS5 versions on the hard drive, and this is where the problem.
If you install both, apparently the version that runs by default is the PS4 version, so as much as you have a shiny new PlayStation 5, you'll be playing the PSXNUMX version. Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War with textures and graphics of the previous generation.
It has a solution?
As you can imagine, the solution is extremely simple, but it is possible that some users do not go into detail or even simply think that the graphic jump is not particularly noticeable. To clear up any confusion and confirm the issue at the same time, Activision has posted some quick instructions to ensure you're playing the correct version of Cold War for PS5.
What you will have to do is the following:
- Select the game in the main menu, but don't launch it.
- Scroll down to the "Play" option
- Select the three dots to open the extra options menu
- Select “PS5 | Full | Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War”
- Start the game

A bit of a confusing transition
This is just one more example of how confusing the transition from one generation to another is being, and not precisely because of the lack of facilities that allow you to play from one generation to another without going through the box (although this is not the case with Call of Duty, precisely), but because of the way in which this transition has been implemented.
What at first should be transparent and completely simple for the user, in the end is becoming an annoying process that ends up installing two versions despite the difficulties of disk space that new consoles are suffering at the beginning. We'll see if in the coming months we see a somewhat more intelligent management of this content, although as the PS4 and Xbox One versions disappear, these problems will vanish on their own.
I can't believe they take news from Eurogamer, in eurogamer they are very into lying and posting false things and I'm seeing it coming
