In a world that is increasingly moving towards the intangible, sometimes people capable of creating wonders with their hands stand out from the rest. There are many and craftspeople that they have created a hole in the social media showing how they create their craft pieces. North of the Border he is an expert in clay and miniatures. His YouTube channel has just under half a million followers, and his inspiration are video games.

Clay, resin, paint and many hours and talent

Adam is an expert in modeling clay. In his own words, she loves to create "geeky little things." His inspiration is mainly video gamess, but it also performs dioramas and sculptures based on characters from movies, television series or any other phenomenon that hits pop culture. This week, the British has dared with an impressive diorama based on The Legend of Zelda, specifically, in the video game The Wind Waker. In it, we see Link sailing the Great Sea with his ship, the red figurehead (king of red lions in English). The model does not lack a detail, and it would only be perfect if the ship could speak.

In the video that North of the Border has uploaded to YouTube, he shows the step by step process. First, he uses an almost liquid block of clay and spreads it over a white cork surface that he has previously lightly modeled with cutting tools. Playing with the temperature and with some tools, the artist gives volume and detail to the Great Wave.

To give the wave the finish it deserves, Adam doesn't settle for clay for his work. Using a bicomponent silicone, he performs a structure mold (which, in addition, will allow you to reproduce the figure more times in case you feel like doing it). Once he has the mold, he fills it with epoxy resin with a blue dye. The result, once solidified and after passing it with a blowtorch, is truly spectacular. Immediately afterwards, the youtuber gets down to work to carry out the wave details, with polymer clay, which will have to be fired separately so as not to deform the wave. Finally, he returns to clay to create the majestic boat and its protagonists. The result is something that you could display in your living room without many people realizing that it is a model representing a video game.
