In the last State of Play celebrated, a new trailer for the remake that will come to the latest console from Sony. In it you can not only see new cinematics, but also some gameplay snippets that show how good the characters and environment look.
Likewise, some interesting details appear in it, such as the appearance of Cloud, Barret and company, which are technically at a high level. Also some changes in the interface such as the menu in the lower left corner. In the following video you can see the differences from the first trailer.
After four years since it was known that it was being developed, we have two clear things: the development is being quite complex and, even so, it will not leave everyone satisfied. During the next E3, which will be held in June, we hope to be able to show you more details and who knows if hopefully also the final release date.
The before and after of Final Fantasy VII: its evolution
Final Fantasy VII, the original version, came out for sale in 1997 for the first Playstation. The idea was that it would see the light of day on the Nintendo 64, but the storage limitation meant that it finally made the leap to the Sony console.
Those of us of a certain age remember what it meant. In those years, it stood out visually with graphics and animated sequences (Full Motion Video) unusual for that time. Three discs took up the entire game.
However, the great success of the Square Enix title came at the hands of its remarkable story and character development. The battle system also managed to penetrate among an audience that outside of Japan was not so accustomed to these mechanics.
With such success Square Enix brought the title to other platforms for years to come. A version for Microsoft Windows was released in 1998. During 2009 it was made for the PlayStation Network, allowing it to be played on the PlayStation 3. Later, in 2012 and 2013, the purchase option came as a digital download and via Steam respectively.
In 2014, it was published for iOS and Android devices. And recently, in the middle of 2019, you already have it available for Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.
Without a doubt, Final Fantasy VII is an important title in its own right for the history of video games. That shows in how it has influenced the industry, which will not prevent that when this remake sees the light there will be criticism as well. You know that sometimes nostalgia and memories weigh heavily.
