the turn of the universe Half-Life It is giving a lot to talk about. First impressions are leaving everyone speechless, as the game is offering an incredible virtual experience that doesn't pay attention to any kind of detail. The reception is being tremendous, however, there are many users who are running out of being able to play for a simple reason: they do not have virtual reality devices.
virtual limits
The demands of virtual reality viewers are well known to all. They require a PC with a series of technical characteristics that not everyone can achieve, to which must be added the disbursement of the compatible virtual reality glasses. The result? A prohibitive experience that is within the reach of very few.
This generated, how could it be otherwise, a wave of comments about the extent to which Valve could sacrifice the experience of its users by limiting Half-Life: Alyx to the virtual world. After 24 hours since its launch, the game has received a wave of users, collecting no less than 43.000 simultaneous users according to the live broadcasts that were carried out on Twitch.
Half Life: Alyx reached 43k concurrent players on Steam during launch day.
It is certainly a successful launch for a VR title and is already as high as Beat Saber VR's peak concurrent player count on Steam.
However, it's clear that the numbers are held back due to VR requirement. pic.twitter.com/BYXZAOdEoS

It is undoubtedly an incredible figure considering that this is a title limited to playing it in virtual reality, so it is easy to imagine what it could have achieved if it had not been limited to this factor. And that's why the question we all ask ourselves now is, will Valve be encouraged to launch a version without virtual reality? The answer is more surprising than you might imagine.
It's going to happen sooner or later
Do you think that Alyx will have a version without virtual reality? The doubt has been clarified by Robin Walker, co-creator of Team Fortress (the mythical mod of Half-Life) and current employee of Valve. According to Walker, he is completely sure that today there is already someone who is working hard to bring life to a mod that allows it The question is not if it will exist or not, the real question is when it will arrive.
The problem is that after all the work that goes into creating a non-VR version, users might come to the conclusion that such a version is not worth it, since it will be quite obvious that the game was created in that virtual atmosphere for one simple reason: it's more fun to play.
probably not worth it
And it is that, if you have seen some gameplays of the game, there are scenes in which the narrow corridors, the lighting and the damn jumping crabs feel better with the first-person view offered by a virtual viewer. Not to mention the multiple interactive mechanics that invite us to pick up objects, manipulate map elements or simply feel like we're wearing smart gloves on our hands.
Perhaps for all that it is not worth waiting for a Half-Life: Alyx no virtual reality The game has been conceived like this, and that is exactly why it is succeeding just as its creators had imagined.
