PETA wants to change weapons for cameras in Hunting Simulator 2

Hunting Simulator 2

There are all kinds of simulators. There is flight simulators, life simulators as sims, football simulators and games, and also, hunting simulators. The best known is Hunting Simulator, a game in which the player will have to prepare his vest and utensils to go out into the woods and hunt all kinds of specimens.

A game without weapons

The game is quite real thanks to its graphics and gameplay, and that is something that some people do not like too much. Like PETA for example. The well-known organization that fights for the ethical treatment of animals has announced a statement in which it invites the CEO of Nacon (the developer of Hunting Simulator) to make some changes so that the game respects the freedom of animals.

The solution, to be exact, would consist of replacing all the game's loves and the purpose of the game to offer instead cameras with telephoto lenses, so that the player would have to take photos of the animals and obtain the best score with the best catches. Never better said.

According to PETA Vice President Mimi Bechechi, "Nacon needs to stop glorifying violence against animals by transforming Hunting Simulator 2 players into rescuers and admirers of wildlife, swapping out the game's weapons for Canon cameras."

The letter, which can be read on PETA's French website, is written by PETA's head of digital campaigns, Marie-Morgane Jeanneau, and is addressed to Nacon CEO Alain Falc. Will this writing force the release of an animal friendly DLC? At the moment there is no response from the developers, so we will have to wait and see what happens.

animal suffering

Should Nacon change the rules of his game? Does the title violate any laws? Obviously the game is completely legal, however, we must not forget that an activity like hunting threatens the lives of many animals, and a simulator like this only normalizes the activity, which is highly rejected by many people in society. According to a British study, 11% of hunted deer were killed after receiving two or more shots, while those that died from wounds suffered for more than 15 minutes before dying.

There will be points of view of all colors, but PETA's proposal is on the table. What will happen?
