As much as you want to believe it, this is not the PS5: this is how the fake video was created

ps5 video fake

In the last few hours, a video posted on YouTube has drawn the attention of all video game enthusiasts, and that is that the clip supposedly showed a nueva PlayStation 5 working. The clip, which disappeared after a few hours, raised suspicions that the video showed something that should not be shown. We were before the first real image of PS5? Not so fast.

A very fine design job

The video, which you can see below, shows a home recording in which an alleged PS5 boots up to a welcome screen with a QR code with which to complete the configuration of the console. Before getting to that, the screen showed a supposed boot process of a Linux system that ends up giving way to the well-known animation of the waves and the Sony logo, a screen that looks quite real and that encouraged us to think that we were before the First big console leak. But what about the console itself?

The PlayStation 5 appears timidly on one side of the image, presenting a rather reduced design compared to the image we have seen of the V-shaped development kit. It is something that attracts a lot of attention, since, with the only known data Until now of the console, a design with those lines and dimensions is of course quite a surprise.

This is how the fake PS5 was created

But it's time to wake up and find out that it's all about a dream. Or rather, a joke. The video in question is nothing more than an excellent exercise in VFX effects created by a fan. If you find it hard to believe, you just have to take a look at the video that he has uploaded below to demonstrate the origin of the console, a very perfect render that, although it has some errors, looks perfectly in the video to the point of making us believe that we were facing the PS5.

Its creator took care of the details so much that he even asked for help to create the startup process of the Linux system and the animation of the ripples with the logo of Sony, all done in a completely homemade way. It is certainly a work worthy of praise, but it will have bothered more than one if we take into account the sensitivity of the information we are dealing with.

On cold analysis, you can see a tighter flying wire and we'd even say the Sony logo on the screen isn't centered correctly, but overall the effect is spectacular. Unfortunately we are going to have to keep waiting for the Japanese firm to reveal exact details about its new console, but in the meantime, we will have to dream.
