Resident Evil 3 remake could be a reality

If you like it, if you are a fan of the Resident Evil saga, pay attention. Rumors about a new remake by Capcom begin to sound strongly. Resident Evil 3 would be the new title that the company would prepare as a remake. And yes, it is great news, as it turns out that it is one of the five titles in the saga with the most sales, in addition to having a story closely related to what for me is the best installment in the saga.

Capcom seems already preparing the remake of Resident Evil 3

When Capcom announced the Resident Evil 2 remake I think all of us who originally played it on the first Playstation were excited. In those years Capcom broke the mold with some proposals that, despite being very linear, due to graphics and setting were amazing.

Well, in addition to all that for Capcom, the remake of Resident Evil 2 has also been a good success at the sales level. That is why it is logical that the possibility of new releases of those first titles that helped create what is now the Resident Evil saga was never ruled out.

According to Eurogamer, Capcom seems to be working to remake the third installment and it would have planned to launch it this coming year 2020. Logically they are rumors, although one of the sources is the same one that leaked that George RR Martin and From Software were going to work together on the development of a video game that we later learned would be called Elden Ring.

If you don't know the Resident Evil saga well and especially that third installment, I'll tell you. The original title of the game was Biohazard 3: Last Escape, but here we knew it as Resident Evil 3: Nemesis. It was the continuation of Resident Evil 2, which for many and for me in particular was the best installment of all, at least the one I remember most vividly.

Resident Evil 2 Demo

Resident Evil 3 was released at the end of 1999 in Japan and in February of the following year it was when it did the same in Europe. That is why the launch of its remake is next year makes sense, since it would be 21 years old. The same as with the second part that already has its remake.

At the plot level, the story is divided into two halves. On the one hand, there is the one that recounts the first hours of the outbreak of the T virus and that places the action a few 24 hours before what happened in Resident Evil 2. The second half occurs two days after these events and continues to have Jill Valentine as the protagonist.

Taking into account the history, which has been one of the five titles in the saga with the highest sales and all the possibilities that it could bring to current machines or those that the next releases of PlayStation 5 and the new Microsoft console could give, it is logical that Capcom would come to consider that option of the remake. So we will have to be attentive if the saga attracts you to see if Capcom confirms and gives more information.

For the moment, until we know more about this remake of the third installment, we do know that there will be a new game called project resistance. This title is a cooperative multiplayer video game set in Resident Evil and where up to four players will have to survive the attacks that the zombies around them make.
