Warzone 2.0 arrives today: Battle Pass, map and much more

Warzone 2.0 Battle Pass

A few weeks after Modern Warfare 2 hit stores, now it's time for it to land Warzone 2.0. The new version of Battle Royale brings a large number of new features that you should know about, because, even if you have played the previous version, this generation includes many new things that you are interested in learning about.

Two game types: Warzone and DMZ

Warzone 2.0 Battle Pass

The classic parachute jump and survive as you can (you know, the usual mode of Warzone) is joined by a new game mode called DMZ. In this cooperative mode in 3 player teams You must complete missions to earn rewards. You will be infiltrated in an area of the map and you must get out alive reaching a extraction zone. It's up to you to accept missions to get more bonuses, the more difficult they are, the juicier their rewards will be.

The problem is that you have limited weaponry, since before deploying you must select it. If you die, you lose it, and if you manage to get out of there, you will return to the base with the newly obtained loot.

How the new Battle Pass works

Warzone 2.0 Battle Pass

The battle pass coming to Warzone 2.0 and Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer is quite peculiar. Instead of offering the classic progressive line of horizontal orientation in which to advance levels little by little, now we will have a kind of map of spaces called Area of Operations that we can unlock by following a path from sector A0 to sector A20.

The novelty is that now you can define the route that best interests you, so if you are thinking of getting a specific reward, you may have the opportunity to get it before using a shortcut.

Each sector (box) is made up of a High Value Target (the icon that gives an image to the sector) and four other secondary rewards called that you must unlock before to get the OAV. These rewards are unlocked by collecting Battle Token Level Skips, which are earned through gameplay, the same way we leveled up in the old Warzone.

For example, in the case of sector A1 that we will have in the first battle pass we will find the following:

  • Business card “Aerial Entrance”
  • Dual Weapon XP Token
  • "Aerial Entrance" emblem
  • “Paying Rent” Weapon Charm
  • Weapon Project “The Orbiter” (OAV)

The box will not be unlocked until we have all those items or rewards unlocked.

Warzone 2.0 Battle Pass

Doing math, if each sector has 5 rewards, at the end this battle pass would also have 100 levels like the previous one, only that we can complete them by choosing the order that the Operations Area allows us.

What about Warzone?

The original Warzone will stop working when Warzone 2.0 kicks in, but it will be back. That will happen two hours before the launch of Warzone 2.0, since a farewell event is planned that will close the current stage to make way for the next one.

Warzone's closing event will take place today, November 16, as two hours before the launch of Warzone 2.0 the servers will stop working after Season 5 concludes. This will allow developers to fully focus on Warzone 2.0 and once everything goes as expected and the game runs as normal, the engineering team will take a break for the Thanksgiving holidays and return on November 28 to turn the servers back on under the name of Call of Duty: Warzone Cauldron.

This means that you will be able to continue playing the old Warzone if you want, but for this you will have to wait until November 28, and with many absences. The game will offer the classic battle royale experience, there will be no add-on store, and there will be no mini maps or alternative maps or playlists. And understand, the game will not receive future updates, since the development team will be absolutely focused on the new Warzone 2.0.
