A couple of years ago a modified version of Super Mario 64 appeared on the internet that worked perfectly on PC. It was a perfect port that allowed the Nintendo 64 classic to be played natively without the need for an emulator, being able to enjoy incredible performance, in addition to giving freedom to create mods and thousands of custom settings. Well now it's Zelda's turn.
An automated port
It all starts with an obsessive project. A reverse engineering job that managed to obtain a version of Ocarina of Time compiled in C, it managed to open the doors of the impossible, since from there everything would be easier. With the work done, the interested parties should only have a ROM and run a tool that will take care of compiling the final edition to be able to run on PC.
Its creator has called this tool Ship of Harkinian, and it is available on Github to download completely free (you must enter their Discord to get the latest version of the software).
What exactly does it offer?
This version of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is capable of offering modern controls with which to control the camera with the right stick of a gamepad, use high resolutions and enjoy the image in ultrawide screens. The game has been perfected until it is molded to the most current needs without losing the essence of one of Nintendo's jewels.

The result is quite spectacular, although its creator assures that the best is yet to come, since apparently the implementation of mods will be much easier than that of Mario 64, due to the fact that the game's script system is very similar to that of the modern engines.
It will not be the only Zelda for PC
The most interesting thing is that it seems that there is another project underway to decompile The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask, a job that is currently at 45%. When it is finished, we will see the same process again, with a perfect port for PC that will be able to run on Windows, Mac and Linux.

You can download Ship oh Harkinian by visiting the official Discord channel that its creators have opened, however, as you might be imagining, the ROM needed to compile the entire game is another matter entirely. Due to the fact that this is Nintendo's proprietary content, its distribution is absolutely illegal, so we cannot help you in that regard.
