If you use the keyboard SwiftKey (one of the most popular), you have it next to the space bar, while if you use the Gboard (another equally widely used), for example, you have it located in the upper icon bar, just on the right side.

In any of these cases, you have it as easy as clicking on said icon and start talking, and you will see how what you say is transformed into text. Speech recognition is pretty good, and you'll probably feel comfortable enough with it that you don't need anything else.

With the 'Audio in text for WhatsApp' app on Android

It is one of the most popular applications for this purpose, without a doubt. The solution couldn't be simpler: download the app from the app store, open it, record the message you want (you first have to select the language in which you will speak), check that there are no recognition errors and tap on «Send». The list of WhatsApp contacts (including your most recent chats) will open so that you only have to select and send it.

The only bad thing about the app is that it has advertising within the app, but the "price" to pay to enjoy it free.

For iOS there are also several solutions for the same thing, but “Transcribe: from voice to text” is one of the most attractive that you will find on a visual level. Install, enter, record the audio you want and then indicate the language in which you have spoken (it only gives the option to English or Spanish). After that, you will have to wait a few seconds and your conversion will be ready, appearing archived and with the possibility of exporting in text, PDF or RTF -or taking it out in audio format. And of course, free. Easier, impossible.
