We've been waiting months for Apple to launch a new "cheap" phone and the news has finally popped up. paw. The company's smartphone, which will not be called iPhone 9 but iPhone SE (yes, dry) that's it official. This is what you need to know about the new Manzanero terminal.
The second generation iPhone SE
Apple has decided to update its lowest part of the catalog with the renewal of its iPhone SE. If you remember, the first version of the equipment was launched a few years ago (in 2016) to offer consumers an alternative something cheaper within the iPhone universe.
Now the apple house repeats the formula offering a iPhone SE (2020) that adjusts where it can (and wants) its technical sheet to offer a terminal below 500 euros -in its cheapest version, of course.
The equipment thus inherits the Retina HD LCD screen from 4,7 inches of the iPhone 8, with a short resolution (1.334 x 750 pixels), the maximum brightness of 625 nits and a density of 326 pixels per inch. It is accompanied in its lower zone as well as an old acquaintance, the touch ID, the biometric sensor of the house, which is recovered on the front in this phone - the latest models of the house no longer had it.
Inside now runs a processor chip A13 Bionic (The iOS 13 operating system is in charge of its management, as always) and at a photographic level, Apple could not have simplified the panorama more, pulling again from the proposal already seen in the iPhone 8: single camera 12 MP with wide angle and f/1.8 aperture that becomes the absolute protagonist on the back (well, along with the True Tone LED flash). The camera does not have optical zoom (only 5x digital), but it does enjoy intelligent HDR support, optical and automatic image stabilization, autofocus with Focus Pixels and its famous Portrait Mode, of course. There is also video recording in 4K and as for the front, we find ourselves again with the well-known 7 MP camera of the house.
A priori, as you see, know little by little, not so much for performance (we have already verified in the past that phones like the Pixels (or previous iPhones) can take very good photos with a single lens) as for the fact that it is a terminal launched in the middle of 2020 in a market with fierce competition.
Apple has once again been Apple when it comes to giving its battery data and it limits itself to commenting that the autonomy of the terminal is "similar to that of the iPhone 8" which should give us up to 13 hours of video playback. The phone enjoys fast charging (50% in 30 minutes) and also wireless charging.
Price and availability of the iPhone SE (2020)
The new iPhone SE has an official price that starts at 489 euros in its most basic version and can be purchased in three colors: white, black and red (belonging to Product RED).
As for the capabilities, we have no surprise:
- 64 GB of storage for the aforementioned 489 euros
- 128 GB capacity for 539 euros
- 256 GB internal storage for 659 euros
The iPhone SE can be reserved from April 17 at 14:00 p.m. (Spain), beginning its distribution on the 24th of this month.
By the way, with the arrival of this new iPhone the iPhone 8 is finally discontinued, which has already officially disappeared from the Apple website.
