Moon Knight, what's up?
It is undoubtedly a lesser-known character within the world of Marvel but not alien to lovers of the publisher's comics. Behind this name (Caballero Luna in Spanish) he hides Marc Specter, elite soldier, heavyweight boxer and mercenary who, after the discovery of an archaeological dig in Egypt, ends up becoming the human avatar of Khonshu, the Egyptian god of the moon. Upon his return home to the US, he takes a turn in his life, fighting evil and donning a silver suit with which he will be known as Moon Knight. In order to blend in with his new role and execute some of his new plans, he will also adopt two additional identities to help him in his task: businessman Steven Grant and driver Jake Lockley.
It is therefore a fairly complex character and rich in nuances that you can get a lot of use out of, as Marvel Studios and Disney themselves have been able to see. Both announced in mid-2019 that his story would be taken to the TV format through a series for the platform Disney+ content that will be released, if nothing goes wrong in 2022.
It thus adds to the increasingly long list of titles for the small screen that will form part of the MCU. Ethan Hawke and Oscar Isaac for the list
According to the well-known media Variety, some sources close to the project have confirmed that Ethan Hawke he would have already auditioned for a leading role in the series. There are no details about who he would give life to exactly, but he is betting that he is neither more nor less than the central villain of the plot. Moon Knight has several enemies so it is difficult at this time to opt for one. Even so, it must be remembered that among the most prominent is perhaps Bushman, Black Spectre, Midnight or The Profile (perhaps this is less likely, but it cannot be ruled out either).
It is not the only weight name that we could find in the credits. It was recently confirmed that the actress May Calamawy will also join the cast of this new fiction, thus keeping company with Oscar Isaac (Poe Dameron in the last three Star Wars movies) who will give life neither more nor less than the character protagonist from the Disney+ series.
