We always think that there are fewer and fewer original approaches within the field of video games, especially when we come from seeing goat simulators and even sliced bread toast. So at this point we shouldn't be surprised by a release where a cat is the main protagonist. Now, after many months waiting to find out when it would hit the market Stray, which is the name of the creature, we finally have all the details with some surprises that PlayStation users will like.
Walk the streets alone
We already know how the internet gets when anything about cats appears. It doesn't matter if it's a video, a meme or... a video game? Stray It is a project that we have known of its existence for at least a couple of years, when it jumped to the media for its original approach: in this title we play the role of a cat that roams the streets of a city with a certain air of Blade Runner, and that it has the ability to work in conjunction with what looks like a drone.
Simply with these two elements, plus its ability to communicate with the robots in that city, we already get a different game, with an approach that bets a lot on secrecy, due to the measured movements to climb the walls and few confrontations due to the very nature of the protagonist. Even so, the little that had been seen invites optimism so, perhaps for this reason, it has become one of the games to keep track of.
Luckily, in Sony's State of Play at dawn from Thursday to Friday, it has provided us with new data, such as that we will have it ready to play in just a month and a half and that on top of that we can do it without dropping a euro. Do you know how?
Straight to PS Plus
Indeed, Sony has decided that Stray get directly to PlayStation Plus subscription service, which, for those days, will have already been renewed with those three alternatives to which we will have access with Essential, Extra or Premium modalities. In the event that you want to have this kitty completely free from its launch, it will be necessary to have a subscription Extra or Premium.
If you keep your plan within Essential mode, Stray it will not be available and you will have to buy it. As you can see, Sony begins to outline in this way what its particular Game Pass will be like from now on with this initiative that does not exactly touch one of the most anticipated AAA of 2022 but, at least, a title that has raised some expectation because of his catlike approach.
Developed by BlueTwelve Studio and published by Annapurna Interactive, this game will be available from july 19 for both PS4 and PS5 and PC users. At the moment there is no news that it will end up having an Xbox version in the coming months, so we will see if it finally consolidates as a total or temporary Japanese exclusive.
So now you know, if you want to see what a cat is having while walking the streets of a city infested with dangers, you are very close to being able to experience it.
